Hi – Brittany here! So, as you can tell from the blog post title… I got a new car… twice (we’ll get into that later). Previously, I was driving the car my husband Corey gave to me when he got his new truck. This car was a 2014 Chrysler 200 with low mileage. Overall, this was a great car and I was very grateful for it. Now, I know this sounds silly but I LOVED my previous car which was a 2004 Mini Cooper. My Mini Cooper held a special place in my heart because it was my first car at 16 that my Dad and I spent months looking for! This is where my love for Mini Cooper’s began. Yes, I know what you’re thinking – Corey’s 2014 sounds much nicer than my 2004 Mini Cooper. You’re right, it totally was, I just missed my mini.

2018 Mini Cooper Countryman
I got a new job and was able to afford a car payment. Like I mentioned above, I missed my Mini so I started looking at other Mini Coopers. I started browsing the internet and found a 2018 Mini Cooper Countryman that had just over 12,000 miles on it. This Mini Cooper Countryman had four doors, AWD, sunroof, heated seats, leather seats, press to start engine, and a lot of space for a “Mini” Cooper. Corey and I went to go look at it and I ended up buying the car at the beginning of May. I always told Corey that I would one day have a Mini again and that day finally came! I was so happy and loved my new car.
Let the Issues Begin…
I had my new Mini Cooper for about 3 days and asked Corey if he wanted to go to Dunkin Donuts to get some iced coffee. This was the first hot day of the year so we of course wanted the AC. We had the AC on for a few minutes and nothing was coming out but hot air. Waited a couple of more minutes… hot air. I could not believe it, the AC was broken! After a quick google search I thought it was just something simple. I immediately called the dealership where I got the car and they were able to get it in the shop 4 weeks after to fix the problem. Well, that’s what I thought. When I took it to the dealership for the appointment, they said it would be an 11 hour job and to expect it to be there for two days. Two days passed and I still didn’t hear anything from them so I called to get an update. They told me that it is coming along and that they will call me when it’s done. One week later, I still didn’t have a car so I called again. They told me that there was a bubble in the air conditioner that was causing the car to overheat and now the car wasn’t even starting. After sitting and talking to Corey, we decided it would be better if I just returned the car. It wasn’t a good sign that it was already having this many issues and I just got it! I returned the car and started looking for new cars that same day.
The Car Hunt
Although I loved Mini Coopers, I decided that it was probably a better idea if I looked at something different. I decided to look at mid-size SUVs because I wanted the space. Some of the SUVs we looked at were the, 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, 2020-2021 Honda CR-Vs, Toyota 4-Runner, and the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan. We test drove a few of the cars and the one that stuck out to me was the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan. This car was sleek, smooth, big, AWD, it checked all the boxes. Corey and I decided this was the right car for me and we moved forward with the process!

New Car…Again!
After meeting with two Volkswagen dealerships, I found the perfect Tiguan that worked for me and my budget. I ended with a brand new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan. The car didn’t even have 100 miles when I took it off the lot. I love my new car and after thinking about it, things probably worked out better in the end. You know what they say, “Onto bigger and better things.”
Until next time…
