Christmas 2021 Sneak Peek

Hello dear readers! Can you believe it’s almost that time again? It seems like just yesterday we were writing about the end of summer, and here we are decorating for Christmas! Where do you stand on the “when to decorate” question? Do you wait until after Thanksgiving, or do you decorate before? In years past we always had traditional fall decorations and a fall Thanksgiving table up until Black Friday. Now that we call HartLand home, there is waaay more decorating to do, but no more time, unless we start early. We have most, but not all, of the outside finished. This week we will start tackling the inside and putting up our beautiful Balsam Hill flocked Christmas tree. Good time for a blog post refresh too!

What Christmas Decor To Expect This Year

Every year I like to tweak my tree decor just a little bit. I was actually hoping to make a major change to reds and greens so I can alternate between traditional and non-traditional, but things just didn’t work out that way this year. Switching over to red requires me to have new slipcovers made, but my slipcover lady is so swamped that she’s taking orders a year out. Instead of pining away (pun intended) for red and green, we will enjoy our soft, beautiful pastel colors again this year. What changes will we make this year, you ask? Well for one, we will replace most of our shatterproof ornaments with real glass balls. Yes, they will break and make a mess, but there is really no substitute for the beauty and authenticity of glass balls, in our opinion. We will also add many more glittery pics for extra sparkle and shine. What to do with all of those shatterproof ornaments? Repurpose them of course! We will be making a pair of beautiful flocked wreaths for the barn doors on the barn outside. Stay tuned for that, and in the meantime, please enjoy these sneak peaks!
